I’m Roland Legrand, a Belgian technology journalist with a background in economics and philosophy. For many years, I worked at De Tijd, covering technology, digital culture, virtual worlds, and the changing economics of media. My current work focuses on philosophical research and independent writing on AI, agency, and digital worlds.
In 2026, I completed the Research Master of Philosophy at KU Leuven. I am now preparing a doctoral project on artificial intelligence and agency.
MixedRealities is my personal space for essays, reading notes and conversations about AI, virtual worlds and the philosophical questions they raise. I write for curious readers who want to understand what these technologies do, how we talk about them, and why they matter.
